KIIT, IBM sign MoU
Bhubaneswar: The KIIT School of Management (KSOM) of the KIIT University and IBM on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here.
The agreement was signed between founder of KIIT group of institutions Dr Achyut Samant and head, Academic Initiative, Developer Works and Globalisation Initiatives for IBM Software Group Himanshu Goyal in the presence of Technical Lead Academic Initiative of IBM Vikas K Manoria and other senior officials of the two organizations the KIIT university premises.
As per the agreement, IBM will perform training activities for faculty and students of KSOM and provide software.
The faculty, after completing IBM’s faculty development programme, will be deemed as Subject Matter Experts in their respective areas.
They would then need to train students on their areas of expertise.
On the other hand, KSOM has assured IBM that it will train 100 unique IBM certified students by 2010.
Trained KSOM students will get preference for employment in IBM and its partner companies.
We are pleased and proud to be a partner with KIIT, said Goyal, adding that IBM provides a global knowledge on networking to both students and faculty members. Speaking on the occasion, Samant said that the MoU would give a momentum to educational cooperation between KIIT and IBM.
