Orissa Chhatisgarh to collaborate to boost tourism
Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Bhubaneswar (Odisha): Tourism Minister Sri debi Prasad Mishra discussed with Chhatisgarh Tourism & PWD Minister Sri Brijmohan Agrawalla to boost tourism in a collaborative manner today at Raipur .
Sri Mishra appraised Sri Agrawalla regarding the potentialities of Orissa by which more tourists from Chhatisgarh can visit Odisha. After the October Roadshow at Chhatisgarh with Tour operators and other stake holders OdishaTourism has recently developed some packages like Special Jagannath Darsan and Chilika Tour, Specialolphin Tour, Special Trekking package for Gandhamardan Hill, Special Sambalpur sightseeing etc
Sri mishra also emphasized on making more scenaries & develop infrastructures packages in river Mahanadi which emanates from chhatisgrah.Both Sri Mishra & Sri Agrawalla agreed to develop a full package for tourists which can allure for domestic as well as international tourists in which components like heritage by the side of Mahanadi, Bhuddist heritage and eco destinations lkie Wildlife santuaries, unique biospheres, satkosia gourge, village like artisan skills can be focussed. Chhatisgarh & Orissa both the States on their own are developing tourism infrastructure of Mhanadi and central Mahandi respectively.They have agreed to snergzise this which will boost tourism prospect of both the states.
Orissa has got 146 lakhs tourists from Chhatisgarh last year and this discussions further fiollow-up in the 1st week of February 2010 to see the growth of footfalls. Due to train connectivity Chhatisgarh like Intercity PURI-RAIPUR express, existing Air connectivity between Bhuabeswar_Raipur-Mumbai & proximity destinations and other toorism packages. The discussion was very successful and other tourism officials of Chhatisgarh were present.
