Paradip: Defending champion Aonal Unit of IFFCO bagged 13 gold, seven silver and two bronze medals and scored total 107 points and emerged champion of the 5th Inter Unit Sports Festival of IFFCO that concluded at the sports ground here on Tuesday. Phulpur unit was bagged three gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals and scored 60 points and grabbed the runners-up trophy while Kandla unit scored 58 points and grabbed the third place.
The host unit scored 48 points and finished fourth.
The closing ceremony also showcased fire works and cultural performance by local artists.
Around 90 children of employees who won the medals will get sports scholarships for two years, announced managing director IFFCO U S Awasthi.
Among others KL Singh, MR Patel, Ajay Mishra, D Bhattacharya, employee’s association members and thousands of sports lovers were present.
